Most designers join a product team. I influence the practice it runs on.

I'm Riley Greco — most recently the founding designer of Charlotte AI at CrowdStrike. I've spent years taking ambiguous problems to shipped products. From zero to one, and product to platform.

How I work

Four things I believe about design

01

Impact over intent

Good intentions ship products that look great on paper and fail the moment real people touch them. Nothing guarantees success — but talking to people and uncovering real needs beats building one more solution hunting for a problem.

02

Ask the hard question

I'm not afraid to ask whether we're building the right thing. We don't always pick the strongest use case first — so I dig in, and if an idea is missing its hook, I'll help find it or point us somewhere better.

03

Perspective over consensus

An informed point of view beats a room full of agreement. Alignment still matters — we should all know where we're going and why — but consensus for its own sake won't get us to impact or differentiation.

04

Systems not pixels

A button is never just a button. I design for the workflow behind it — consistency, trust, scale, the data and load underneath — because products don't live in a silo. They sit alongside others, on a platform, sometimes as the platform.

Charlotte AI: from zero to one

The ask was simple: "make it pretty so leadership invests." Instead, I started with research — and it changed the product. Across every customer profile I found skepticism, low trust, and almost no appetite for autonomy. That finding shaped the entire product, and the practice I spent the next two years building around it.

Summary How was this generated?

SCATTERED SPIDER is a financially motivated eCrime adversary active since 2022, best known for high-impact campaigns against large enterprises across telecommunications, retail, and financial services. Detections in this environment map to activity attributed to the group.

The adversary is tracked under a range of community aliases and is known for social-engineering-led intrusions to gain initial access before moving to extortion. Its targeting has broadened over time toward high-revenue organizations.

CrowdStrike Intelligence continuously monitors this actor's campaigns and updates attribution and reporting as new activity is observed.

The rest is a conversation. The calls I got wrong, the features that got cut, the tradeoffs I'd defend and the ones I'd redo — that's the part worth talking through.
